Cement or Concrete – What’s the difference?

A lot of people ask us, what is the difference between cement and concrete? Thankfully the answer is pretty easy (and we’ve explained in more depth below) but get the two mixed up and you could find yourself in trouble!]

Firstly, what is cement? Cement is a powder binder and is usually either limestone or calcium silicate minerals based, it’s a key ingredient of Concrete, think of it like Eggs in a cake, holding all of the ingredients together!

With that covered, what is Concrete? Concrete is the second most used resource on earth and can be dated back as far as 1400BC! A combination of aggregates (sand & stone), cement and water. When all of these ingredients are combined, they set and become what we know as concrete.
